Infosys Leadership Institute : Visit in 2009

I consider myself lucky to catch up with a visiting faculty of Infosys, who happen to be a close friend.

Located in a 325 acres property in the outskirts of Mysore, this is campus is known as Leadership Institute, where the newly recruited students are trained and once fit placed on job. If they donot show progress to their expected level, then they are shown the door in six months time.

Click the picture below to enlarge.

This is the topography of entire campus. With lots of gardens and buildings, the campus looks eco-friendly. No fuel care is allowed inside - only battery operated. Infact for inmates, cycle is available which they can use and leave it at any place with in campus. For those who donot know cycling, they have umbrella - to catch up when it is raining or sunny.

You may wonder if this is white house. But it is in Infosys campus build with White house doom and roman pillars.

This is a view of an indoor garden at infosys. It looks like Jurassic Park campus.

This is the infront of the club house. Well equipped, but i found very less people using it. Because the inmates donot have time to use them. They are busy shaping their career.

Kovalam Trip

To unwind, recently I had been to Kovalam and stayed at Uday Samudhra Resorts which is about 10 KM from Trivandrum. Following are some of the Panoramic shots made at the resorts.

Though the beaches and exterior of the resorts were good, i was not greatly impressed by the architecture or comforts or the quality of food. May be, being a person from hot climate (madurai), I prefer hill stations for vacation. And Kovalam being beach side didnot go well with the weather. But the price package was relatively good. Overall, it was OK kind of vacation for me.

100th Post : Golden Palm Resorts & SPA

This is the 100th post in this blog. I am really happy that I could Share, Store and categorize news/articles of 'my' choice. I love it. And this 100th article is very special and close to my heart - It is about my recent trip within India.

Last weekend (18th and 19th Sept 2010) I was at the Golden Palm Resorts & Spa, off Tumkur Road in Bangalore. The moment I drove into the resort and could smell something familiar : From the tall, fort like structure to the artefacts in the resorts. Then I was informed that the resort belongs to veteran Hindi Actor Sanjay Khan who could be immediately recollected for his production and lead role in the TV Serial 'The Sword of Tipu Sultan'. Infact, the presidential suit in the resort is named after Tipu Sultan.

By and large, it was a business visit. But I did find some time to relax by the pool side. While retiring on Day One, I was walking pretty tired in the lounge, when I saw two gentlemen crossing me. My friend then murmered that the person on the left was Sanjay Khan. He had put up in the resort for a weeks time.

And Next day morning, I was grazzing through 'The Times of India'. In the Sunday supplement was an article titled 'Oh God, I am not coming to you'. Deeply inspired by the article, which was about Sanjay Khan, I thought it fit to publish it in my 101st posting.

Luxury : The real meaning

With rapid urbanization, people often loose their roots. At the end, even the tweet of a sparrow becomes a luxury and we pay through our noses. Precisely that is what I observed in Orange County. The food menu is really really expensive. Food bill for four people for a day (lunch and dinner alone) comes close to 3000 bucks. One day accomodation cost you as high as Rs.14000 (This is the minimum spec). They use all the traditional names just to enthuse you and they charge you like hell. For instance, they call the Restaurant as The Granary. But the price list of foods in Granary is unimaginable.

Just click the pictures below to believe it. Then I checked the website : all VVIPs of India like LK Advani, KumarMangalam Birla have posted their comments about their stay. Probably these resorts are ment for the super rich. Frankly speaking, a vacation overseas would cost you less when compared to places like orange county.

Not willing to belive what I say. Have patience and click the link below. You would agree with me.

Beautiful Messages

The moment I arrived @ Orange County, my impression was that it is yet another luxury resort, meant to mint money in the name of nature. No doubt it is a business venture and it needs to be viable. But along the swimming pool, I found few poems/Sayings in English which impressed me the most. But the fact is among the 100 odd guests at the county, I was the only one who was photograping these sensible plaques. I felt everyone needs to visit the orange county to see these plaques. But to avoid unnecessary expenses, I am posting these photos. If you read them : that is more than enough. It is equivalent to having gone there.

Orange County : Few more photos

Orange County : Coorge

I happen to visit Orange County Resorts @ Coorge on March 13th-15th 2010. After a tedious journey in Ghat Road, I reached the county located in a cofee estate at some 1000 ft altitude. The weather was quiet sunny. The accomodation was cozy but for the price. There was beautiful swimming pool with all modern and olden aminities. During the few days stay there, I did make it a point to go for the jungle walk every morning.

Not to bore you too much, I am just uploading a few photos which would talk the rest.
